Militants injure CRPF jawan in central Kashmir

Srinagar/UNI: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was critically wounded on Thursday morning by militants in the central Kashmir district of Budgam, where a Block Development Council (BDC) chairman was shot dead by gunmen last night.

They said militants shot at and critically wounded a CRPF jawan at Wadipora Keisarmullah Chadoora in Badgam district this morning. Militants also snatched the weapon of jawan before escaping from the spot, they said.

Later the injured were rushed to 92 Base hospital, they said.

Meanwhile, security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation, they said adding further details are awaited.

BDC chairman, Khag, Badgam, Bhupinder Singh was shot dead by militants last night.
