Mumbai, Nov 4 (IBNS): Maharashtra police have arrested 11 people following complaints about an alleged rape of a minor in a school in Buldhana district, according to media reports.

A 10-year-old girl studying at a government-aided school for tribal students in Maharashtra's Buldhana was raped repeatedly by a 22-year-old staff member, reported NDTV.

Reportedly, she said more girls were raped and women police are questioning other girls in the school, according to the media.

The manager of the school, who was also arrested, had earlier tried to stop the victim's father from going to the police,

The father approached BJP lawmaker and former minister Eknath Khadse, who escalated the complaint to the state's Agriculture Minister Pandurang Phundkar, reported NDTV.

Maharashtra's Tribal Welfare Minister Vishnu Savra is likely to visit Buldhana on Friday, media reported.

A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to look into the incident.
