'Modilie' new word, says Rahul, Oxford Dictionaries disagrees

| @indiablooms | May 17, 2019, at 02:30 pm

New Delhi, May 17 (IBNS): The Oxford Dictionaries has replied to a Rahul Gandhi tweet in which he said Modilie is a new word and said their dictionaries did not have it.

Tweeting the screenshot of a page that looks similar to the Oxford Dictionaries website, the Congress president on Wednesday said: "There’s a new word in the English Dictionary. Attached is a snapshot of the entry :)"

On Thursday, Oxford Dictionaries, however, replied to the tweet saying: "We can confirm that the image showing the entry ‘Modilie’ is fake and does not exist in any of our Oxford Dictionaries."

Several BJP leaders made fun of the situation. Amit Malviya retweeted it saying: "Slapped."
