Mother-daughter hacked to death in Assam

Guwahati, Sept 11 (IBNS) : Miscreants killed an elderly woman and her daughter while another minor girl was critically injured in Assam's Morigaon district on Saturday night.

According to the reports, the incident took place at Bechapatty area in central Assam district on Saturday night where miscreants killed a 50-year old woman and her 12-year old daughter with sharp weapons and injured another minor girl.

Local people had found the body of mother-daughter inside the house on Sunday morning.

The injured minor girl had rushed to Morigaon civil hospital and later shifted to Guwahati Medical College hospital.

Police said that the woman and her two daughters were alone in their home when the incident happened.

The deceased persons were identified as Rongmai Devi and Rekhamoni Devi.

Police has launched investigation to nab the culprits.
