A 28-year-old law student died after collapsing during a techno music concert in Mumbai on Saturday, with police suspecting that excessive alcohol consumption may have played a role in the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Vrushabh Gangurde. He reportedly collapsed at the venue and was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities said the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem examination is completed.

An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. “We are examining CCTV footage from inside the venue and other electronic evidence,” a Tardeo Police official told India Today.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has also reportedly initiated a parallel inquiry into the case.

In a separate incident at the same concert, a 31-year-old woman suffered health complications after reportedly consuming alcohol and energy drinks. She is currently undergoing treatment at Jaslok Hospital, where her condition is stated to be stable.

The woman has reportedly told police that she had not consumed any narcotic substances.
