Lauding Hemant Soren for his party's performance in the crucial polls, Modi posted on X: "I thank the people of Jharkhand for their support towards us. We will always be at the forefront of raising people’s issues and working for the state."

"I also congratulate the JMM-led alliance for their performance in the state.
@HemantSorenJMM," he said.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress alliance, which is aiming to return to power in consecutive terms, was locked in a close contest with the BJP-led coalition since morning but improved its lead over the saffron party later.

As per the evening update, JMM-Congress-led INDIA is leading in 57 seats while the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is ahead in 23 seats while Others 1.
