Narendra Modi congratulates Pushpa Kamal Dahal over becoming new PM, looks forward to strengthen friendly ties between India-Nepal

New Delhi: India PM Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated  Pushpa Kamal Dahal after he was elected as the new PM Nepal.

Modi said he is looking forward to working together with him to ensure further strengthened friendly relationship between India and Nepal.

Modi tweeted: "Warmest congratulations @cmprachanda on being elected as the Prime Minister of Nepal. The unique relationship between India & Nepal is based on deep cultural connect & warm people-to-people ties. I look forward to working together with you to further strengthen this friendship."

Chairperson of CPN - Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal was appointed as the  Prime Minister of the new post-election government on Sunday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday appointed him as the PM.

He will now serve as the PM of the country for the third term.
