Navjot Singh Sidhu launches new political party 'Awaaz-e-Punjab'

New Delhi, Sept 2 (IBNS): Ending speculations over his upcoming political career, former cricketer and BJP lawmaker Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday launched a new political party of his own in Punjab called 'Awaaz-e-Punjab'.

According to reports, he has taken this step along with Bains brothers of Ludhiana – Simarjeet Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains – and former Indian hockey captain Pargat Singh.

The formal announcement will be made within 3-4 days, said reports.

This ends the speculations and flip flops over his joining the Delhi based Aam Aadmi Party.

Former BJP MP, Sidhu had quit the Rajya Sabha membership as he was asked to stay away from Punjab by the party.

Sidhu had been upset with the BJP since 2014, when his parliamentary constituency of Amritsar was assigned to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who lost the election.
