New Delhi/Chandigarh, July 15 (IBNS): Ending all speuclation, politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday sent his resignation to Punjab CM Amarinder Singh.

Sidhu said he delivered his reignation to the official residence of the CM.

Sidhu tweeted:  "Today I have sent my resignation to the Chief Minister Punjab, has been delivered at his official residence."

Singh is currently in New Delhi to meet PM Narendra Modi.

Sidhu on Sunday informed that he resigned from the state cabinet.

The cricketer-turned-politician, who did not take charge of his ministry following the Cabinet reshuffle, tweeted his resignation letter on Sunday.

He had earlier submitted his resignation letter dated June 10 to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

"I hereby resign as Minister from the Punjab Cabinet," the 55-year-old leader wrote in the letter.

Last month, he had tweeted pictures with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi after a meeting them in Delhi.

"Met the Congress President, handed him my letter, appraised him of the situation," he wrote.

On June 6, Sidhu was stripped of a major portfolio in the state. He lost the Local Government portfolio and was instead entrusted with the charge of Power and Energy Sources.
