NDA has full support of its allies: Ananth Kumar on no-confidence motion

| @indiablooms | Jul 20, 2018, at 11:00 am

New Delhi, July 20 (IBNS): Claiming its imminent victory in the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Union Minister Ananth Kumar has said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is having the full support of its allies.

While interacting with reporters, Kumar said: "NDA has full support of its allies. We will also have support from other political parties. All our allies are together"

Following a phone call from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah on Thursday, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has agreed to lend his support to the saffron party.

However, growing suspense, Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said his party chief will take the call on Friday.

Taking a dig at Congress president Rahul Gandhi's earlier "earthquake" comment, Kumar said: "Earthquake will come in the Congress party and the grand alliance today."

Rahul had earlier said earthquake will come in the parliament if he gets an opportunity to speak for 15 minutes.

Chandrababu Naidu's TDP has brought the no-confidence motion, demanding a special status for Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress, the Trinamool Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are supporting TDP's motion.

With 314 members in the lower house of Parliament, the no-trust motion is not a threat to the BJP-led NDA government, since the number is more than the half-way mark (272).
