NEET protest: Centre invites CJP for talks; protesters stick to Jantar Mantar or neutral venue demand

Union Minister Jitendra Singh invited representatives of the protesters for a meeting at the office or residence of Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, assuring them that the government was ready for discussions on all issues.

Centre extends fresh invitation for talks

Speaking to ANI, Singh said: "The government has sent four formal proposals for discussions with their representatives since last afternoon. This is a standing invitation to all our youth friends that the government is ready for discussions on all issues at your convenience, at any time."

He added: "Discussions can take place either at JP Nadda's office or residence. We do not stand on prestige. Union Health Minister JP Nadda and I will be present for discussions. Slowly, through dialogue, we will move towards a solution. This is part of the series of continuous steps taken by the government for the welfare of students. I humbly appeal to all of you to come and hold discussions."

CJP rejects venue, insists on Jantar Mantar or neutral location

The CJP, however, rejected the government's proposed venue, reiterating that any dialogue must take place either at the protest site at Jantar Mantar or at a mutually agreed neutral location.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said: "We are willing to hold talks only at Jantar Mantar or at a neutral venue, in accordance with the wishes of our supporters. More importantly, the meeting must lead to concrete action."

He added: "We are not interested in hollow assurances or false promises. Please do not waste our time. Jitendra Singh-ji and JP Nadda-ji may hold higher offices than us, but at this moment, we have the support of the entire nation."

The exchange comes amid continuing protests over the alleged NEET paper leak, with both sides expressing willingness to engage in dialogue but remaining divided over the venue and the expected outcome of the proposed meeting.
