A 21-year-old student's body, who was allegedly murdered, was recovered from a drain near the private university he studied in, media reports said citing police officials.

Police said they have identified and arrested five students who allegedly murdered him, reported NDTV.

The family of the deceased, Yashashvi Raj, alleged the five students killed him after a fight, said the report.

He was a student of Galgotias University, police added.

Police said they are awaiting post mortem report.

When Yashashvi Raj did not come after an outing with two of his friends on October 12, his family members approached the police.

Greater Noida police officer Vishal Pandey said he got information today that a body has been found in a drain some 500 meters from the university.

The body was identified by the family, he said, according to the report.
