One dies, another injured in fire cracker explosion in Odisha's coastal Kendrapara

Kendrapara/UNI: One person died and another injured following an explosion in a cracker manufacturing unit at Juidaspur village in Odisha on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Krushna Chandra Nayak, a fire cracker manufacturer while one Chinmaya Baral of Kasoti village was injured in the mishap.

The mishap took place while Krushna Chandra Nayak was preparing firecrackers at his factory at the backside of his house.

Krushna died on the spot and the cracker stored in a thatched house gutted completely.

Chinamaya Baral, a customer sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to the district Head Quarter hospital and later shifted to the SCB medical college and hospital at Cuttack for treatment.

Police said Krushna was illegally manufacturing firecrackers and selling it too.

The Sadar police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
