At least one soldier was injured after a major terror attack on an Army picket in Jammu and Kashmir was foiled on Monday, media reports said.

Security forces have launched massive search operations following the incident.

According to reports, terrorists fired at the Indian Army's new camp in Gundha Khawas area of Jammu Kashmir's Rajouri when alert security forces foiled the attack.

“A major terror attack on an Army picket in remote village of Rajouri has been thwarted,” defence spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal told Hindustan Times.

The fresh attack occurred just days after Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Army Chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi chaired the meetings in Jammu and reviewed the security situation in the region.
