Open temples for 'Shravan': Former Aurangabad MP writes to CM Uddhav Thackeray

| @indiablooms | Jul 23, 2020, at 05:52 pm

Aurangabad/UNI: Aurangabad former MP and senior leader of Shiv Sena, Chandrakant Khaire, on Wednesday urged the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to reopen temples in the district for devotees to offer prayers in the month of 'Shravan'.

Khaire said in a press release issued here today that he has made the above requested to the Maharashtra Chief Minister in a letter.

All the religious shrines in the state have been shut down due to coronavirus.

Khaire pointed out that the Coronavirus crisis is still not completely over the country, citizens now want to take care of themselves, follow social distance rules, use regular masks, people have understood this and are adapting to the changes.

Religious places should also be opened now as other transactions have started in the market, he stated.

In such a situation, if the temple is allowed to open, then the devotees can visit the temple during the month of Shravan and do fast, ritual and worship.

He further stated that the lockdown has caused huge financial losses to small and big sellers selling religious and worship materials.

If temples are started, their business will also run adding that we are fully aware that the risk of coronavirus has not reduced, so the government should allow the temples to be opened on the guarantee of safe distance, use of masks, compliance with the instructions given by the state government, Khaire added.
