Peace and harmony should be maintained at any cost in UP after Ayodya verdict: Yogi to district officials

Lucknow/UNI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the district officials to maintain peace and harmony at any cost after the Supreme court verdict on the Ayodhya issue, slated to come any day.

"Don't hesitate to take action promptly against the anti-social elements and anyone trying to disturb peace," the CM said with directing the district officials to detain anti-social elements who have a history of creating problems.

Interacting with District Magistrates and Police Superintendents of the districts through video conferencing here from his official residence on Thursday night, Yogi Adityanath  made it clear that to the officials that laxity would not be tolerated at any cost in maintaining law and order.

"Keep a track on the posts made in the social media on Ayodhya verdict and punish those trying to create problem. You should also be in touch of political and religious leaders of your  district after the verdict besides interact with common people to take their views on the judgement," the CM said to the DMs and SPs.
     
He said that honest report should be given to the control rooms about any incident or situation  to be set up in all the districts which should work round the clock. Minor incidents should not be ignored while foot patrolling of police should be intensive in sensitive pockets. Meeting of the peace committees should be held every day.
     
The CM said that Dial 112 should be awared to the people so that they could report any small incidents in their area.
     
Making specific  mention to the officials of the bordering districts with Nepal,  he said checking of people crossing the international border should be monitored minutely.
 
During the interaction the CM took keen interest in talking with the officials of Ayodhya district and asked them to be more vigilant after the judgement.
     
Additional chief secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi, DGP OP Singh along with other senior police and home department  officials were present during the video conferencing.
