People of India have always stood for peace, security and progressive ideas: PM Narendra Modi tells Nawaz Sharif

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday responded to former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif's congratulatory message and said India always stood for peace, security and progressive ideas.

Nawaz Sharif wished PM Narendra Modi after he took charge as the Prime Minister of the world's largest democracy.

Modi posted on X: " Appreciate your message @NawazSharifMNS.The people of India have always stood for peace, security and progressive ideas. Advancing the well-being and security of our people shall always remain our priority. "

Nawaz Sharif earlier wished him on X: "My warm felicitations to Modi Ji (@narendramodi) on assuming office for the third time. Your party's success in recent elections reflects the confidence of the people in your leadership. Let us replace hate with hope and seize the oppurtunity to shape the destiny of the two billion people of South Asia."

Modi took oath as PM of India on Sunday for a record-equalling third term.
Earlier, Modi wished Shehbaz Sharif after he won polls and assumed Prime Minister's Office.
