PLA militant arrested in Manipur
Imphal, Dec 16 (IBNS): Security forces arrested a militant of the banned People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Manipur’s Imphal East district on Sunday.
Based on intelligence input about presence of a militant, the Mantripukhari battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) had launched joint operation with Imphal East Commandos at Kongpal Khaidem Leikai area and apprehended the militant.
The nabbed militant confessed that he was indulging in extortion activities.
Later, he was handed over to Porampat police station for further legal action.
