PM Harper returns 'Parrot Lady' to Modi

Ottawa, Apr 16 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has handed over the sandstone sculpture from Khajuraho named "Parrot Lady" to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

"Canada returns Indian heritage piece -"Parrot Lady" PM @narendramodi receives sandstone sculpture from Khajuraho," MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin had earlier tweeted.

" @patishapta Sculpture dates back to 12th century. Being returned in accordance with 1970 UNESCO Convention," he said.

The statue was returned to the Indian PM in the library of Canadian Parliament on Wednesday.

Modi is currently visiting Canada as a part of his three-nation tour.
