Abu Dhabi, Aug 17 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived at the high-tech Masdar city in UAE in a state of the art driverless car.

He has been on a two-day visit to the Gulf state.

Reports said Modi  was taken on a guided tour in the battery operated car.

He was accompanied by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The PM is likely to take ideas of the cleanliness being maintained in the zero carbone city  and analyse if the model  can be replicated in India.

Modi tweeted about the Public Rapid Transport System in Masdar city where the PRT uses a virtual software to guide its journey using magnets embedded within the floor surface.

"We have heard about BRT. Masdar City has PRT or Private Rapid Transit," he tweeted.

This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister is visiting UAE in 34 years.

After lunch with the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Modi will leave for Dubai where he will address the Indian diaspora.

About  50,000 people have registered for the event to be held at a cricket stadium.

The objective of his visit is to enhance trade and security cooperation between the two countries.

On the first day, he visited an iconic mosque in Abu Dhabi and later interacted with Indian workers.

"This magnificent place of worship strikes you with its size and beauty. It brings together exquisite skills and creations from around the world, and serves as a fine example of human achievements and unity," the PM wrote in the visitors book at the Sheikh Zayed mosque, the third largest in the world, on Sunday.
