| @indiablooms | Apr 04, 2021, at 02:45 pm

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narender Modi on Sunday extended his greetings on Easter Day.

In his message, PM Modi said: "On this day, we remember the pious teachings of Jesus Christ. His emphasis on social empowerment inspires millions across the world."

Easter, also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday, is celebrated by Christians as a holiday because it represents the fulfilment of the prophecies of the Old Testament and the revelation of God's salvific plan for all of humankind.

Commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus, Easter celebrates the defeat of death and the hope of salvation.
