PM Modi greets nation on Navratri, Hindu new year

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the nation on the occasion of Navratri and Hindu new year, celebrated in the form of various festivals in different regions of the country.

"Happy Nava Samvatsar to all of you. May Vikram Samvat 2079 bring new enthusiasm and high spirits in everyone's life," the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

"Happy Navratri to all the countrymen. May this festival of worshipping Mother Almighty infuses new energy into everyone's life," the PM said in another tweet.

The Prime Minister also extended wishes on Ugadi, the South Indian festival celebrated on the first day of Chaitra month as per the Hindu calendar.

"Best wishes on the special occasion of Ugadi," the PM tweeted. The Prime Minister also extended wishes on Gudi Padwa, the Marathi new year also known as the Samvatsar Padvo.

"Gudipadva's best wishes. I wish you happiness and good health this year. May all your wishes come true in the coming year," the Prime Minister said in a tweet in Marathi.

Further, the Prime Minister also greeted people on Navreh, the Kashmiri new year celebrated by Kashmiri Hindus.

Extending best wishes, the PM wrote on Twitter, "Navreh Poshte ! Wishing you all a happiness-filled and healthy new year.

May we all get new energy to work even harder and may our society touch new heights of progress."

The PM also wished people on the occasion of Cheti Chand, the festival that marks the beginning of new year for Sindhi Hindus. "Cheti Chand greetings to everyone," he tweeted.

Further, the Prime Minister wished the people of Manipur on Sajibu Cheiraoba, the first day of the new year celebrated by the people of the state. "Greetings to everyone, especially the people of Manipur on the special occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba. I pray for a happy and healthy year ahead," the PM tweeted.
