New Delhi, May 7 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav on Saturrday to discuss about the drought situation in Bundelkhand while a water-carrying train waits at Jhansi railway station, according to media reports.

Following the meeting, tweeted Modi, "Had a productive meeting with UP CM @yadavakhilesh on the drought situation in various parts of UP. The various drought mitigation measures undertaken in the state were discussed extensively in the meeting."

Yadav too tweeted saying, "Meeting with @narendramodi was a very positive one. We focused on the right solutions for the drought situation."

On Saturday, PM Modi is also meeting the chief ministers of Maharashtra and Karnataka to discuss the drought situation in their respective states.
