New Delhi, July 27 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated British Prime Minister Theresa May after the latter's assumption of her new responsibility, a government release said.
Prime Minister Modi recalled his memorable visit to the UK last November and affirmed India’s commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between both countries.

The Prime Minister also appreciated UK’s consistent support to India in various global fora.

May thanked Modi and said she is looking forward to working closely with him for developing stronger bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in tackling pressing global challenges.

Earlier this month, May created history by becoming only the second female Prime Minister of Britain, after Margaret Thatcher.
