PM Modi to visit Cyclone Amphan-hit West Bengal tomorrow for survey with Mamata
Kolkata/IBNS: After Mamata Banerjee appealed to Narendra Modi to visit West Bengal in the aftermath of the super Cyclone Amphan and take stock of the situation, the Prime Minister's Office has informed that he will arrive in Kolkata on Friday.
PM Modi and Banerjee would conduct a joint chopper survey of the Cyclone Amphan hit areas of West Bengal.
The Prime Minister will arrive at the Kolkata International Airport at 10 am on Friday.
Besides Bengal, he would also visit the neighbouring state of Odisha.
"Tomorrow, PM @narendramodi will travel to West Bengal and Odisha to take stock of the situation in the wake of Cyclone Amphan. He will conduct aerial surveys and take part in review meetings, where aspects of relief and rehabilitation will be discussed," PMO India tweeted.

This comes as Banerjee, during a press conference, said: "I would request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come and visit affected areas.”
Earlier, the PM tweeted and assured to leave no stone unturned to assist Bengal and Odisha.

Cyclone Amphan on Wednesday pummelled the eastern state of West Bengal leaving scores of people dead, countless homeless, besides plunging large parts of the state without electricity, internet connections and other communications as the six-hour-long calamitous dance of the nature left even the city airport in disarray.
The devastating cyclone claimed 72 lives in West Bengal, including 15 in the capital city of Kolkata.
West Bengal and its capital Kolkata resemble a jigsaw puzzles of devastation and human misery with many homeless as authorities try to reach relief amid the scare of coronavirus.
