PM Modi welcomes BRICS leaders ahead of summit

Panaji/New Delhi, Oct 15 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday welcomed BRICS leaders ahead of the start of the summit, scheduled to take place in Goa on Oct 15 and 16.

The summit will witness the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as both India and Russia are expected to sign 18 key deals during his stay.

"India welcomes you, President Putin! Wishing you a fruitful India visit. @KremlinRussia_E," PM Modi tweeted.

He also welcomed South African President Jacob Zuma and Brazilian President Michel Temer.

"A warm welcome to you, @SAPresident. Looking forward to fruitful deliberations in the coming days. @PresidencyZA," he tweeted.

"Namaste President @MichelTemer! Welcome to India for the @BRICS2016 Summit," PM Modi's tweet read.
