PM's mother visits bank to exchange banned notes, Gandhi refuses to comment

Mumbai, Nov 15 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday refused to comment on the issue that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother visited a bank to exchange banned currency notes.

"My way of working is different from Modiji. I will not like to comment on his mother," Gandhi told media.

Heeraben,  Narendra Modi's nonagenarian mother, visited a Gandhinagar bank on Tuesday, carrying banned currency notes for exchange.

Gandhi said that he feels that the entire move of banning Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes might turn out to be a scam.

"This will turn out to be a big scam," Gandhi said.

Gandhi said he feels that even Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley did not know about the move before Modi announced it last Tuesday.

"I don't think that even the Finance Minister was aware about the move," he said.

On Monday, PM Modi had asked the people to keep patience for 50 more days even as they are having to bear with the immediate consequences of demonetisation that has scrapped old Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes.
