Police seize 29 cattle heads in Assam’s Goalpara, two held

Guwahati/IBNS: Despite imposing Assam Cattle Preservation Act, cattle smuggling is rampantly going on in the state.

Police seized two cattle loaded trucks and apprehended two persons in Assam’s Goalpara district on Monday.

Based on secret information, Goalpara district police had set up Naka checking at Kamarpara village area under Simlitola police station and seized two cattle loaded mini trucks.

Police recovered 29 cattle heads from the trucks.

A police official said that, police apprehended two persons in connection with it.

"Based on secret information, we launched an operation and seized two cattle-loaded mini trucks. We have recovered 29 cattle heads from the trucks and apprehended two persons," the police official said.

The apprehended persons were identified as Hawal Khandakar and Dilwar Hoque.
