Police seize 700 cartons of illegal liquor from a truck in Assam’s Biswanath

Guwahati: Police have seized 700 cartons of illegal liquor from a truck and apprehended three persons in Assam’s Biswanath district on Friday night.

Based on secret information, Biswanath district police had laid a Naka check at Ratua area on National Highway-15 and intercepted a truck bearing registration number AS-25EC-2017.

Jayanta Baruah, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Biswanath district said that, during the search operation the police had recovered 700 cartons of illegal liquor from the truck.

“The truck was coming from Baderdewa area in Arunachal Pradesh. We have apprehended three persons after they showed fake documents,” Jayanta Baruah said.

The Biswanath district police had also seized the truck.
