Pondy govt hikes DA for employees

Puducherry, Mar 6 (UNI) The Puducherry government has enhanced the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees from the existing 9 percent to 12 percent.

According to a release from the Office of Chief Minister on Wednesday, the Union government has effected such an enhancement to its employees with effect from January 1 this year and accordingly the D A enhancement to puducherry government employees would also be from January 1, 2019.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy gave approval to this revision and the finance department had already issued orders in this regard.
The government employees will get the enhanced DA along with their March salary and there will be an additional burden of Rs 3.60 crore a month on the exchequer, the release said.
