President condoles ex-AP CM's death

New Delhi, May 10 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday condoled the passing away of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Janardhana Reddy.

In a condolence message to his wife, N. Rajyalakshmi, the President has said, “Shri Janardhana Reddy was an esteemed colleague and a dear friend for long years. A distinguished Parliamentarian and senior Congress leader, Shri Reddy served the nation in various capacities and made significant contribution towards the cause of the welfare and upliftment of the underprivileged."

"In his death, the nation has lost an eminent personality, whose long years in Parliament and public service as legislator, Minister and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will be always remembered," he said.

Reddy died in Hyderabad on Friday.

He was 80.
