President to present National Geoscience Awards-2013

New Delhi, Apr 4 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee will present the National Geoscience Awards-2013 at function to be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Apr 6.

The National Geoscience Awards earlier known as National Mineral Awards were instituted in the year 1966 by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.

"The objective of these awards is to honor individuals and teams of scientists for their extraordinary achievements and outstanding contributions in the field of fundamental/applied geosciences, mining and allied areas to provide incentive for striving towards excellence," read a statement issued by the President's Secretariat.
