New Delhi, July 3 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Rwanda on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Mukherjee said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with pleasure that I extend to Your Excellency, to the Government and to the people of the Republic of Rwanda, warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day."

"As Rwanda commemorates the 22nd Year of the genocide in 2016, India continues to stand with the people and the Government of Rwanda in their efforts to build a harmonious society based on democracy, peace and justice for all her people," Mukherjee said.

"India and Rwanda enjoy warm and friendly relations. Our bilateral relationship and cooperation in regional and international fora has been growing steadily in recent times. As Rwanda marches ahead, we continue to work together to enhance and strengthen these relations for the mutual benefit of our peoples," he said.

"Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and personal well-being as well as for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Rwanda,” he said.
