Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigns in Amethi
Amethi, Mar 27(UNI) Congress general secretary of Uttar Pradesh east Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday held a brief road show in her brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s constituency Amethi, where she appealed the booth workers to pull up their socks to ensure Congress victory.
Hundreds of supporters were seen moving with her convoy; raising slogans like ‘Priyanka Ayi hai, BJP Ghabrai hai’ (Priyanka’s entry has tensed BJP)
Priyanka attended the meeting of the booth committees at AH Inter College in Musafirkhana area of the district under the programme ‘Mera Booth, Mera Gaurav’ (My booth, my pride).
The Congress leader also walked at Kamrauli road in Jagdishpur to meet the people and at Gauriganj crossing she met the activists of Congress youth wing--NSUI.
The AICC general secretary also went to the residence of UP Congress committee member Mohammd Latif in Inahauna area, who is suffering from cancer.
On way to Amethi, Priyanaka also spent some time in Haidergarh in Barabanki Lok Sabha seat, where party candidate Tanuj Punia and his father, senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member P L Punia were present. Priyanka asked Tanuj to spruce up his campaign by interacting directly with the voters.
On Thursday, she will hold meeting with the booth committee members of Rae Bareli, her mother Sonia Gandhi's constituency.
On Friday, Priyanka would be going to Ayodhya where she will hold a day-long road show after worshiping at the Hanumangarhi temple.
