Punjab: BSF officials recover 2 kg heroin from border

Jalandhar/UNI: Border Security Force seized 2 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility of 124 Bn, BSF in Abohar.

A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier’s BSF Headquarter here said on Sunday that the alert BSF troops observed suspicious activities of some mischievous persons ahead of the Border security Fence and challenged then following which they ran towards the Pakistan Territory.

During search four packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing one kg each were found from the area of responsibility of 124 Bn BSF in Abohar sector.

Value of the heroin in the international market is said to Rs 10 crore.

During the current calendar year, the BSF had seized 426.824 kg of heroin valuing over Rs 2134 crore in the international market.
