Punjab records 25 new cases, tally reaches 2,106

Chandigarh/UNI: The total number of Coronavirus cases in Punjab rose to 2,106 after 25 confirmed new infections were reported from the state on Tuesday.

According to an official medical bulletin, 10 confirmed cases have been reported from Jalandhar district, five from Pathankot, four from Hoshiarpur, two each from Amritsar and Ludhiana and one each from SBS Nagar and Faridkot districts.

Out of 40 fatalities so far, seven deaths have been registered in Ludhiana district, six each in Amritsar and Jalandhar, five in Hoshiarpur, three each in SAS Nagar, Kapurthala and Gurdaspur, two in Patiala and one each in Pathankot, Ferozepur, SBS Nagar, Ropar and Barnala districts.

The bulletin further stated that there were 148 active cases till date and one patient is on ventilator and two others are on oxygen support system.

Out of 69,818 samples taken in the state, 2,106 have tested positive, 64,160 negative, while reports of 3,552 were still awaited, the bulletin added.
