Kurnool/UNI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi resumed his Bharat Jodo Yatra at Banavasi village in the district at around 6 am Thursday.

He halted his Yatra at Mugati village for morning break. He would walk via Bodibanda, Yemmiganur and Kalavakunta village Thursday.

He resumed his Joda yatra at 1600 hrs from Halaharvi village.

Rahul Gandhi will walk about 22 km on Thursday.

He will visit Raghavendra Swamy mutt shrine this evening. He would take night halt at Chetnihalli village.

Gandhi would address street corner meetings at Kallidevakunta village and other places in the evening.

Congress sources said Rahul Gandhi would cover over 96 km in Andhra.

AICC National Coordinator (SC/ST/OBC/Minorities) Koppula Raju said Rahul Gandhi told the AP Congress leaders that he was receiving overwhelming response from the people in the state.

Talking to UNI, Koppula Raju said Rahul Gandhi told the AP leaders that his padayatra was attracting huge crowds and it was a tremendous success. The Bharat Jodo Yatra has created a big hope for the Congress party in AP to revive, Raju said.

Koppula Raju said the Congress party during the 2019 election fared very poorly in Adoni, Aluru and Yemmiganur Assembly constituencies but Rahul Gandhi has received a huge response from the people in the constituencies now.

“Rahul Gandhi has asked AP Congress leaders to reach out to people after the Yatra concludes. The message should reach all people of AP. Fight against the anti-people policies of the government along with the people", Koppula Raju quoted Rahul Gandhi as saying.
