Rahul Gandhi slams Centre over RBI Guv Raghuram Rajan's decision on second term

New Delhi, June 18 (IBNS):Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday attacked the Centre over Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan's decision not to continue for a second term.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows everything. He has no need for experts like Raghuram Rajan," Office of RGtweeted attacking Prime Minister Minister Narendra Modi.

Thanking Rajan for his contribution as the Governor the bank, he said: "Thank you Dr Rajan for steering the economy in difficult times. People like you make India great."

Rajan said he will not serve as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a second term.

"Dr. Raghuram Rajan has announced his intention to go back to academics at the end of his current assignment," Jaitley tweeted.

"The Government appreciates the good work done by him and respects his decision. A decision on his successor would be announced shortly," the Finance Minister said.

Rajan said he will return to academics after the end of his term on September.
