Rahul made irrational claims: Modi

Ahmedabad, Apr 28 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Monday said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi made irrational claims for attempting to attack the development model of Gujarat.

Addressing a rally in Gujarat, he questioned the Congress VP "as to how could there be ‘27000 crore vacant jobs’ when the entire population of the state was only 6 crore."

He also retaliated to Rahul Gandhi’s statement of there being no Lokayukta in Gujarat, and spoke of how a report from the Lokayukta in the state had indicted a former Congress minister for his involvement in illegal deforestation.

The Gujarat CM claimed about "Centre’s anti-Gujarat approach" by mentioning how the work on fixing gates on the Sardar Sarovar dam was stalled by the Central government.

"If this happened, the water availability would increase by manifold, but the Centre hindered this," said Modi.

His state of Gujarat goes for polling on Apr 30
