Jaipur/IBNS: The Rajasthan government has imposed a lockdown till May 3 to stem the spread of Covid-19 which has kept the country on an edge, media reports said.

The government has ordered the closure of offices and markets from Monday till May 3.

The selling of fruits and vegetables will be allowed till 7 pm.

Vendors will be allowed to distribute newspapers from 4 am to 8 pm.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced the imposition of lockdown in the national capital from 10 pm on April 19 to 5 am on April 26 in view of an unprecedented rise in Covid-19 cases.

Kejriwal, while addressing a digital press conference, said all essential services will remain open during the six-day long lockdown, while a total of 50 people will be allowed to attend marriages.

The Chief Minister said he was against lockdown but forced to take the difficult decision as the healthcare system is under stress due to unpredictable hospitalisation of Covid-19 infected patients.
