Rajya Sabha : Uproar and adjournments over Goa issue

| | Mar 17, 2017, at 10:59 pm
New Delhi, Mar 17 (IBNS) : The Rajay Sabha witnessed multiple adjournments on Friday, as ruckus flew high iover allegations of Goa Governor Mridula Sinha having consulted Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley ahead of Government formation, reports said.

The issue was first raised by Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad , who asked as to  why “the Governor had to consult an Union cabinet Minister on the Goa issue.

Echoing Azad, the party’s Goa In-Charge Digvijaya Singh too questioned the  Governor’s role

The Chair, however, refused to entertain the Congress’ plea, asking it to file a consolidated motion instead.

This prompted Congress members to troop into the well shouting slogans against "murder of democracy."

As the situation did not improve with persistent uproars even after the House reassembled after the adjournment, it was adjourned once again.
