Ravi Shankar appointed as India's next envoy to Ukraine

India has appointed Ravi Shankar as the next ambassador to Ukraine.

The appointment has been made ahead of the crucial  Ukraine Peace Summit.

Speaking on the appointment, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement: " Shri Ravi Shankar (IFS: 1995), presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Ukraine."

The ministry said he would join his assignment shortly.

He has been appointed to the post amid the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Switzerland is organising a Summit on Peace in Ukraine at the Bürgenstock (Canton of Nidwalden) on June 15 and June 16.
