Dhaka/IBNS: At least two people have been detained in connection with the gangrape of a garment worker at Ashulia's Narsinghpur area in Bangladesh, media reports said on Tuesday.

The detained people were identified as Arif Hossain (29) and Rana Sarker (25).

The 19-year-old filed a case against three people this morning. Another accused Shamiul Islam Mridha Shohan (22) was on the run, reported The Daily Star.

In the case, the victim claimed that Shamiul was her co-worker and was in a relationship with her, reported the newspaper.

He took her to Arif's house on Sunday.

Shamiul and his friends, Arif and Rana, raped her there. They let her go around 10:30pm and threatened that that they would kill her if she disclosed the matter, according to the case details as reported by The Daily Star.

After the victim informed police, they detained Arif and Rana yesterday, Inspector Fazlul Haque told The Daily Star.
