New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday met Nguyen Van Nen, a member of the politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and party secretary of Ho Chi Minh City, here.

Following the meeting, Jaishankar said India and Vietnam will continue to work to advance Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

"Continuing our high level contacts in the Golden Jubilee year of our diplomatic ties. Pleased to meet Nguyen Van Nen, Party Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam," Jaishankar tweeted.

"As trusted partners, we will keep working to advance our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," he said.

On the sidelines of the Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, on 17 June 2022, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and the Foreign Minister of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son launched the joint logo for the celebration of 50 years of India-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations.

The logo has been selected jointly by the two sides through a contest open for nationals of both countries.

The image represents long-standing friendship between India and Vietnam symbolically through a peacock and a crane, the birds of national importance in the two countries respectively.

It also includes the numeral 50 to denote the 50 years of diplomatic relations and the national flags of India and Vietnam at its Centre.
