S Jaishankar to discuss wade-ranging issues of partnership with Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during UAE visit today

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is visiting the UAE on Sunday at the invitation of counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This is Jaishankar's official visit to the country.

" During the visit, EAM will have meeting with his UAE counterpart on wide-ranging issues of the partnership," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

"This visit will provide an opportunity to review the entire spectrum of comprehensive strategic partnership between India and UAE and regional and global developments," the statement said.

S Jaishankar returned as External Affairs Minister for yet another term following the Bharatiya Janata Party'svictory in the Lok Sabha polls.

Narendra Modi took oath as PM for third straight term.

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) established diplomatic relations in 1972.

While the UAE opened its Embassy in India in 1972, Indian Embassy in UAE was opened in 1973.
