| @indiablooms | Nov 28, 2020, at 10:47 pm

Lucknow/UNI: Even as Uttar Pradesh government has enforced the controversial Love Jihad Ordinance in the state on Saturday, the principal opposition Samajwadi Party has announced to opposed the new Ordinance terming it as an anti-people law.

The party has said it will oppose the Bills brought in both the houses of the state legislature in the next session.

Earlier in the day, UP governor Anandiben Patel, gave her nod on the anti-conversion Ordinance and the state home department issued the notification.
However, later addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said that the new Ordinance was against the people and it has been brought just to harass the people.

" Our party workers and leaders will oppose this Ordinance and it will be opposed in the state assembly and legislative council too," he announced.

Terming that the BJP governments at the Centre as well as in UP was anti-people, he said SP will go before the people to make them aware about the ideology and policies of the Samajwadi Party.

" The farmers are being tortured and the entire markets have been ruined by the BJP. SP is supporting the farmers and will stand with them on their fight against the government," he said.

The former UP chief minister maintained that BJP always says that they would be double the income of the farmers but now they are trying all their powers to crush them.

Talking about the Yogi Adityanath government of UP, Mr Yadav said the government was targeting the opposition leader and the harassment of SP leader Mohammad Azam Khan and his family was a glaring example.

" The only fault of Azam Khan was that he had made a beautiful and big University in Rampur and was implicated by the government. Now the government was demolishing the building on the people as their maps are not approved. But can the BJP leaders show their house maps," he questioned.

Alleging that the BJP leaders always tell lies and now UP chief minister claiming that 10,000 megawatt of solar power would be generated.

" In Kannauj a village was getting free power from solar but this government has disconnected it. Why could a village not get free solar power,' he said.
Earlier, several political leaders from other parties joined the SP in presence of Akhilesh Yadav.

The leaders who joined the party are former Aligarh MP and Congress leader Brajendra Singh, ex MLA from Aligarh Zamirullah Khan, former Minority commission chairman Choudhury Liqyat along with several BSP leaders.
