Kolkata, Oct 8 (IBNS): A local court in Kolkata on Thursday sent former Union Minister Matang Sinh's estranged wife Manoranjana Sinh and city-based businessman Santanu Ghosh to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) custody for 5 days.
After a marathon interrogation, the CBI on Wednesday arrested Manoranjana Sinh and Santanu Ghosh for their alleged involvement in multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.

They were produced in the Alipore Court on Thursday and the judge sent them to the CBI custody till Oct 13.

Beside this arrest, the CBI also interrogated actor turned TMC MP Tapas Pal for hours on Wednesday in connection with the ongoing probe into the Rose Valley and Saradha financial scams.

Meanwhile, the court on Thursday rejected the bail pleas of jailed minister Madan Mitra and Saradha CMD Sudipta Sen's legal adviser Naresh Balodia and extended their jail custody term till Oct 22.

However, Manoranjana Sinh and Santanu Ghosh will be produced to the court again on Oct 13.
