Kolkata/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday interrogated two Trinamool Congress candidates for the forthcoming West Bengal assembly election, Madan Mitra and Vivek Gupta, in connection with Saradha chit fund scam and summoned two retired IPS officials, including State Security Advisor Surajit Kar Purakayastha, in the same case, officials said.

Days after being summoned by the investigation agency, former Bengal minister Madan Mitra and former TMC Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Gupta arrived at the ED office in Kolkata's Salt Lake in the morning for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the ED on Friday served notices to retired IPS officers Surajit Kar Purakayastha and Rajat Majumdar asking them to appear before the investigators on Mar 25 and Mar 24 respectively.

Years ago, Rajat Majumdar was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Saradha case and he was granted bail later.
