New Delhi/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached actress Shilpa Shetty's businessman husband Raj Kundra's properties worth Rs. 97.79 crore in connection with the Bitcoin scam probe, media reports said.

The attached properties comprise a flat in Mumbai's Juhu, a residential bungalow in Pune and equity shares.

The Juhu flat is currently in the name of Shilpa Shetty.

The ED launched the probe following complaints from Maharashtra and Delhi Police against Variable Tech Private Limited, late Amit Bhardwaj, Ajay Bhardwaj, Vivek Bhardwaj, Simpy Bhardwaj, Mahender Bhardwaj and others, NDTV reported.

The probe finds the accused received approximately Rs. 6,600 crore in Bitcoins and Raj Kundra was benefited with 285 Bitcoins from Amit Bhardwaj.

In 2021, Raj Kundra was arrested for producing and distributing pornographic films through the app Hotshot. The Supreme Court later granted him bail.

He was quizzed by the ED in the Iqbal Mirchi case, where his business dealings with Mirchi's aide Ranjeet Bindra and firm Bastian Hospitality came under the scanner.

Kundra, who had won a stake in IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, was accused of being involved in the spot-fixing scandal.
