An Indian national was killed after Iran allegedly struck a power and water desalination facility in Kuwait on Monday, according to media reports.

Quoting Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on X that a service building at one of the country’s power and water distillation plants was damaged in what it described as a “brutal Iranian attack,” resulting in the death of a worker of Indian nationality.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's Defence Ministry said the armed forces detected and dealt with 14 hostile ballistic missiles and 12 hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace over the past 24 hours.

Defense Ministry Spokesperson Col Saud Al-Atwan said during a media briefing, as quoted by Kuwait Times, that a number of those projectiles struck one of the armed forces camps, resulting in the injury of 10 personnel, who are receiving the necessary treatment, in addition to material damage at the site.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following strikes by the United States and Israel on Tehran on February 28, after which Iran reportedly retaliated with attacks across multiple regional countries.
